Complete Stachybotrys Removal Services for Redmond, OR

Stachybotrys requires a higher standard of response than common surface molds. Each service below reflects the specific requirements of confirmed or suspected Stachybotrys chartarum in a Redmond, OR property.

Identification
🔍Species Confirmation via Lab Analysis
We confirm species via accredited lab analysis before applying the Type III protocol. Dark mold in your Redmond, OR property isn't automatically Stachybotrys — but we find out before we scope and price the job.
Containment
🔥Type III Containment Establishment
Double poly, HEPA negative air, smoke-pencil verified, decon mat at entry. Established and verified before the first cut into contaminated material.
Removal
🔨Complete Contaminated Material Removal
Contaminated porous material comes out completely. Double-bagged, documented disposal. No in-place treatment as a substitute for removal in confirmed Stachybotrys scenarios.
Treatment
💧Structural Surface Treatment & Encapsulation
HEPA vacuum, EPA fungicide, encapsulant — all remaining structural surfaces after material removal. Chemical treatment plus physical barrier as the standard, not the upgrade.
Drying
💨Moisture Source Identification & Correction
Stachybotrys presence is evidence of a chronic moisture source. We identify it, document it, and provide the specific correction required. Removal without source correction is temporary.
Clearance
✅IH-Supervised Post-Removal Clearance
Independent IH, not the remediation contractor, collects and interprets post-clearance samples. Written IH clearance report confirms the Stachybotrys removal achieved its objective.

Black Mold Removal Reviews — Redmond, OR

★★★★★
Confirmed Stachybotrys in our Redmond basement after a plumber noticed it during a water heater replacement. Cheap Mold Removal's crew arrived in full Tyvek and N100 gear, set up double-poly containment before anything was touched, removed all contaminated drywall and framing down to the block wall, and treated every structural surface. The independent IH clearance test came back clean on the first round. The level of professionalism was completely different from other contractors we got quotes from.

As a property manager in Redmond, OR, I've dealt with black mold complaints before. Cheap Mold Removal is the first contractor I've used who actually confirmed the species before applying the removal protocol — lab confirmation that it was Stachybotrys chartarum, not just dark-colored Cladosporium. Different removal protocol, properly applied. Clean IH clearance. Tenant returned to the unit with documented written clearance.

Had three quotes for confirmed black mold in our Redmond crawl space — two said they'd spray it with biocide and encapsulate it. Cheap Mold Removal explained clearly why that's not adequate for Stachybotrys on wood framing (mycotoxin-containing material must be removed, not treated in place) and provided a full removal scope. The price was higher but the result was correct. IH clearance confirmed the removal was complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Redmond Property Owners Ask About Stachybotrys

Color is not species confirmation. We surface-sample and lab-confirm the species before applying the Type III Stachybotrys protocol. Dark mold in your Redmond property may or may not be Stachybotrys — accredited lab analysis answers that question definitively.
Stachybotrys chartarum produces trichothecene mycotoxins that remain biologically active even in dead spore cells. EPA-registered biocides applied to Stachybotrys-contaminated drywall kill the living mold cells on the surface but cannot neutralize the mycotoxin-containing material in the substrate. The drywall itself — now containing both dead mold hyphae and active mycotoxins — remains a potential exposure source. Complete physical removal of contaminated porous materials is the protocol specified by IICRC S520 for confirmed Stachybotrys.
Temporary relocation during Stachybotrys removal is our standard recommendation for households with vulnerable occupants. Type III containment protects unaffected areas of the property, but for high-risk occupants, temporary relocation during the active removal phase is the most protective approach.
Independent IH post-clearance sampling with accredited lab analysis is the only objective confirmation method. Stachybotrys spore counts in the treated zone compared to outdoor baseline — when they're at or below outdoor levels, clearance is confirmed by the IH's written report.
Stachybotrys needs continuous wetness on cellulosic material — not just humidity. Common Redmond, OR scenarios: chronic roof leak soaking wall assembly, plumbing leak inside a wall, basement flooding that wasn't dried fast enough, HVAC condensate on ceiling tile. Finding Stachybotrys means there was (and possibly still is) a chronic moisture source that needs to be identified and corrected alongside the mold removal.
